Whitey!
Maddux's last three outings have been solid -- he didn't go very deep vs Clemens, but he beat him, and he should have won the game before that vs Pitts (8 innings, LaTroy blows it and loses it in the 9th).
In fact, I think he's only given up one HR in his past 3 outings ...

I'm at a loss for words...Dusty actually looked like a real big time manager tonight. Yeah, I know. I won't have sympathy for him until he keeps his game turned up a notch, though. Plus, you may have missed his radio comments pre-game ... he said if someone wasn't hitting well, it was ok to take the walk and pass it on to the next guy ... but he hates it when a guy goes up there looking for a walk to pass it along to the next guy ...

I <3 Maddux.
They asked if his pitches had a lot of movement, and he said, "I don't know, I don't watch them once I throw them."

I heard that, pretty funny.
Did you hear that last question when Maddux replied, "I don't want to step on it"?

Looks like the rotation is setting up Z, Maddux & Prior for the White Sox series.

DuBois lays down the law:
"The last couple weeks, everybody has been struggling," Dubois said. "We haven't really scored many runs, and our pitching hasn't been that great.
"But we're going to turn it around, and everybody's going to start clicking here."
Maddux is Maddux:
Maddux has a career record of 34-16 against the Mets, the most victories he has recorded against any major-league opponent. Former Braves teammate Tom Glavine said Maddux simply has a "confidence factor" against New York.
"I don't know," Maddux said. "Sometimes you go out there and [Carlos] Beltran hits it to the warning track instead of the first row [of the bleachers]. There's no way to explain it. It just happens."
Over his last five starts, the 39-year-old has posted a 2.76 earned-run average, looking more like the Maddux of old than "old" Maddux.
Dusty babbles:
“I got a plan, though it might not make sense sometimes, or I don’t say it,” Baker said. “I had an idea in my mind if Holly continued to struggle when I was going to start playing (Dubois). I just didn’t tell you guys that.”<br>

if he went 0 for 4 with 2 errors, would Dusty have said, "I knew he wasn't quite ready. That's why we've been sticking with the vet."

Of course.
From the Maximum All About Maddux Department:
*If* Maddux had never ever gotten to face the Mets
he'd still be looking for that 274th win. ;D
Maddux earned his 34th career win against the Mets (and 307th overall) on Tuesday, the most by any active pitcher against any team.
In 2000, he went 1-3 against them. Since then, he's 8-0.

I was "over there" and one of the threads had a link to the whitesoxinteractive board. After reading it, I was checking out some of the threads there and ran across a thread where they are complaining about the Cubs rotation for the Sox series setting up as Z, Maddux & Prior:
"Baker is intentionally adjusting his starting rotation to give his team the best chances at beating the Sox. I think he learned this from Jerry Manuel, who IIRC, adjusted the Sox rotation for the purpose of bettering his chances at beating the Cubs during Baker's first year with the Cubs. Baker took some heat for not understanding the importance of the head-to-head Sox/Cubs games. He does now, and as a Sox fan I am pissed at his deception about it. Baker is giving Zambrano, one of his best pitchers, an extra day off to allow him to pitch against the Sox, NOT because he wanted to give him an extra day to rest after his 136-pitch last outing. "
